The oldest item in the print shop exhibit for Respect For The Aged Day (September 19)

September 19th is Regard For The Aged Day as well as Jared discussed the oldest point in our printing shop display.

Our Washington hand press, made in 1852 by the Charles Foster & Brother Company, is kept in the same condition as it was 170 years ago. We keep the press fueled oil as well as we ensure that no one operates the press unless they understand what they are doing.

For the print, it is from one of the biggest and oldest cuts in the Lewis Winter Collection. The electrotype was made about 130 years earlier and illustrates the Winter family ranch in Yolo County.
