So what are some heart healthy foods that you can add into your diet? The first one is oatmeal. It has soluble fiber in it that has been shown to lower cholesterol and be very effective and reducing your chances of getting cardiac disease. The next group of foods will be foods that are higher in omega-3’s. These are the good fats, things like wild salmon, avocado, nuts, olive oil. And then the last group I would suggest would be low-fat proteins. So crowding things like beans and lentils into your diet would be a great way to reduce the amount of fat in your diet which again will help you prevent cardiac disease. So go ahead and do your heart a favor and add these foods in your diet.
